Our Teacher

Heather is the mother of four (three boys and one daughter), all of whom have been homeschooled from the beginning. She enjoys learning alongside her children through project-based learning. She is a 10+ Leadership Education Mentoring Institute (LEMI) mentor, a trainer for LEMI, and currently serves as Principal Mentor for Triangle Leadership Commonwealth in Raleigh, North Carolina. She’s trained in Shakespeare Conquest, Quest I/II, Sword of Freedom, Hero Project, Edison Project, Pyramid Project, and Key of Liberty. Her favorite projects to mentor are history-based as she enjoys making history come to life through reenactments, simulations, activities, and meaningful principle-based discussions. When not engrossed in the past, Heather spends time in the community with the Boy Scouts of America and her church. She especially enjoys being Skipper of Sea Scout Ship, staffing Wood Badge and National Youth Leadership Training, and high adventure outings with their community homeschool-based Sea Scout Ship. When not doing any of the above, you’ll find Heather in a hammock reading a book and/or playing the Ukulele, or on a date with her husband of 26 years.
