Writing Lab

This class is a mixed-age lab (ages 9-13) for students to learn more about the writing process and to get help with their writing assignments. Each week we will have a short writing lesson and each student will present their writing assignment from the week. The assignments will be the same for each student but differentiated to meet their needs. This class is based on the IEW program, so each student will work with a personalized checklist in order to grow as a writer at their own pace.

The students will also read and write response papers on two books during the semester.

Students will need to be able to type their assignments.

Class days – Mondays 9:00 – 10:00 Central Time
Classes start September 15, 2025

Materials: notebook, writing utensil, microphone headset and a video camera, Google Docs account
