Sword of Freedom & Hero Project – 2024/2025

This class is dedicated to exploring the US antebellum period up through World War II.
During the first semester, we will explore the US antebellum period, the Civil War, and
its aftermath.  Second semester will cover from the turn of the century up to WWII.

Students will gain understanding of the past events that shape our current political,
social, and world climate. They will also gain an understanding of their personal mission
and the great impact one person can have in fighting for justice and liberty. Students will
participate in class discussions, read and examine classic literature, study historical
documents, and prepare in-class presentations. We will also hold debates, have weekly
writing assignments, memorize important historical quotes, and much more.

Ages: This class is suitable for students age 12-16

Class Day and Time: Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time

Cost: $350/semester (this includes course materials and a genuine replica Civil War
sword, which will be earned by students who complete all of the requirements.)

Note: This is a YEAR-LONG course. Please take note that in order to finish
the entire curriculum, students must enroll for both semesters. Students should expect weekly homework
assignments to be completed outside of class.

The stated price covers only one semester; however, since the course spans two semesters, to successfully complete the class, you must enroll for both semesters, either separately or together.
