Wealthy and Rad Teen Finance Class

Wealthy and Rad is a 32 week course that will help youth learn foundational personal finance skills and financial literacy using real world experiences. Students will earn money, in the form of payouts, for doing assignments and reading books. The money earned will be used for class assignments, which include buying clothing and groceries, entrepreneurialism, and applying for jobs. Additionally, they will participate in various simulations that include learning about the stock market, compound interest, real estate ownership, car buying, doing taxes, and more.
With each payout, they will learn to save a portion, donate/tithe a portion, and pay themselves. By the end of the class, they will have opened a long term investment account, and have savings accounts dedicated to donations and a purpose, such as going on a mission, attending college, buying a car, etc.. They will be empowered to begin making wise financial choices early in their lives.
Note: There is a class fee of $280 that goes directly to student payouts. This makes the total cost of the class for the year to be $580. You can divide the student payouts into two semesters – first semester is $150 and second semester is $130. The payouts are an additional amount over the cost of the class.
This money will be managed via Venmo and you will be contacted by the mentor (Heidi Fackrell) before class begins with instructions on how to set up the payouts.
